When patch 2.1.0 was released, a blood elf paladin put a message on the US forums:

Skinning a bear should aggro every bears in a 40 yard radius. It makes sense, you are actually skinning their best friend.

I say that it makes sense. It is perfectly logical for bears to defend a skinned brother. This change was supposed to be put in the World of Warcraft console game, Molten Core (the words molten core are a link btw), but unfourtunantely the game was never released. So please, when you skin a bear, attack all other bears in a 40 yard radius. This will help save the bears from extinction (after all, they are fighting to defend their friend) and ensure that future generations will get epic loot and XP from bears, while helping to save the planet! Your death is optional.
